- Immigration, transfer into the city and hotel check-in.
- An easy first afternoon: Hoan Kiem Lake → St. Joseph’s Cathedral → the Old Quarter → dinner.

Sightseeing is tentative. Check opening hours and access before finalizing the day.

- Keep the day relaxed: our first three nights in Hanoi are meant to give us time together.

One more day in Hanoi, then a night on the rails.

- Check out and, if the hotel agrees, leave our two 20 kg suitcases there until September 29.
- Pack three days of Sapa essentials into smaller bags.
- Enjoy Hanoi during the day, have dinner and head to the station.
- 22:00 planned departure on Chapa Express to Lao Cai, arriving the next morning.
Prioritize checking availability of the private cabin for two when confirming transport.

A morning shuttle, breakfast and a gentle introduction to Sapa.

- Arrive at Lao Cai station in the morning and take a pre-arranged shuttle to Sapa.
- Leave bags at the hotel and get breakfast.
- Explore Sapa town, the Stone Church and, if we feel up to it, Cat Cat Village.

- Our main trekking day, with rice terraces and mountain villages along the way.
- Follow a route through Muong Hoa Valley, Lao Chai and Ta Van.
- Return to Sapa for dinner and a massage.
We can swap this day with Fansipan on September 28 depending on the weather.

- Check out and ask the hotel to hold our bags while we explore.
- Visit Fansipan if the weather is good, or do the trek if we swapped days.
- Return to Sapa in the afternoon, have dinner, collect our bags and reach the bus pickup point.
- 22:30 planned departure directly to Hanoi in two lower single cabins.
The sightseeing plan stays flexible between September 27 and 28.

- Arrive in Hanoi early in the morning after the overnight bus.
- Leave bags at the hotel and collect the larger suitcases if we stored them.
- Breakfast and a café before check-in, then a nap or massage.
- Add a little sightseeing only if we feel like it; otherwise, just eat well and rest together.
